Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Symptoms and severity of hepatitis B can vary for each person, from mild to severe. Below are common and dangerous symptoms of hepatitis B:

Symptoms of hepatitis B:

1. Fatigue: Fatigue not resolved by sleep and a feeling of poor health are common signs in hepatitis B patients.

2. Loss of appetite and indigestion: Patients may lose appetite, feel like vomiting or vomit, or cannot eat normally.

3. Abdominal swelling and pain: Patients may experience swelling and pain in the abdominal area, especially in the liver area.

4. Yellow skin and eyes: A common symptom of hepatitis B is a yellow appearance in the skin and eyes, called jaundice. This is the result of increased bilirubin, a yellow substance, in the blood.

5. Hives and skin problems: Some patients may experience skin problems such as itching, hives, or skin discoloration.



Dangers of hepatitis B:

1. Chronic hepatitis: Prolonged hepatitis B can cause chronic hepatitis, which is a long-lasting and severe state of liver inflammation. Chronic hepatitis can cause liver scarring and impaired liver function.

2. Cirrhosis: Cirrhosis is the process of replacing normal liver cells with scar tissue. Cirrhosis is a dangerous complication and can lead to liver and kidney failure.

3. Liver cancer: The risk of liver cancer increases significantly for people with chronic hepatitis B. Liver cancer is a serious complication and can be fatal.

4. Transmission: Hepatitis B can be transmitted from person to person through direct contact with blood, mucus or genital fluids of people infected with HBV. This is especially dangerous during pregnancy, because hepatitis B can be transmitted from mother to fetus, causing serious consequences for the fetus.
